Hey everyone! Time for another book tag! I honestly looove doing book tags because it is a lot easier for me to focus my thoughts when I'm pondering specific questions. Sooo here we go!
* I got this tag from Katytastic's video, which you can of course watch by clicking on the link.
1. Totally should've gotten a sequel:
Okay, honest opinion: Give me another Lunar Chronicles book! I'm in love and I neeeed need need more Cinder & Kai, Cress & Thorne, Scarlet & Wolf, and Winter & Jacin. So WINTER needs a sequel. It was a great ending, but... like, everything was good and we got a resolution and such, but I wanted to see past that! I mean, I know books need a real plot with conflict. So I don't know how she'd do it, but Marissa Meyer, give us another!
2. Totally should've had a spin off series:
So this isn't part of a series, but READY PLAYER ONE by Ernest Cline is a standalone that totally needs a spin-off series! Because even though the story felt complete and the ending was totally satisfying, the world is incredible and I need more of it! We're all in agreement, right? Ernest, get on that! Pleeeeease?
3. An author who totally should write more books:
Tahereh Mafi! I absolutely am deep in love with Tahereh Mafi's writing style. It's so unique and gorgeous and metaphorical. But that doesn't distract from the story. Basically, I want to be Tahereh Mafi. She = writer goals. Luckily, we will have FURTHERMORE coming out later this year! But I hope there's much much more to come.
4. A character who totally should've ended up with someone else:
I'm actually pretty happy with most end relationships, so I'm picking one that hasn't exactly had an ending yet. I need Evie from The Arcana Chronicles to end up with Jackson. Because I freaking LOVE Jackson, and I KNOW most people are all on the Aric train. NO. Like what do you even see in him? In DEAD OF WINTER we kind of see that she's picked Jackson, but... then the very end kind of made me wonder if that's really how it's going to end. GAAAHHHH.
5. Totally should've ended differently:
THESE BROKEN STARS by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. This was actually one of my top 15 of 2015 and I LOVED it. I liked that the ending was happy and I got what I wanted, but it was confusing. So I guess I just wish it made more sense to me. It was super heavy on weird science-y stuff, which I didn't quite get. But this book is SO good.
6. Totally should've had a movie franchise:
Umm... all of the books I've listed so far! Honestly. But also, THE SELECTION. I think that whole series would be so entertaining as movies! It would be like watching The Bachelor, but much better because it's not real. Sometimes the fact that crazies like some of the girls on that show exist makes me very sad for humanity. But with The Selection series, none of it would be real! And it would be funny and cute and overdramatic. Sometimes I'm into that.
7. Totally should've had a TV show:
SIX OF CROWS. Easily. Because it's so action-packed! It would be perfect for making tons of great episodes out of! Also the characters are awesome. As long as the actors were awesome, it'd make a fantastic TV show!
8. Totally should've had only one point of view:
THE LUX SERIES by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I read the first four of those a while ago, so I don't remember exactly when multiple PoVs show up, but I'm pretty sure it's just Katy in the first one or two. Either way, I love Daemon, but I don't need his point of view. It was just weird going from only one character's thoughts to more than one partway through a series. (But am I even remembering that right? Correct me if I'm wrong...) This was hard for me because I pretty much always love multiple points of view.
9. Totally should have a cover change:
This pretty much goes without saying. THE VAMPIRE ACADEMY SERIES by Richelle Mead. Really entertaining books, but horrific covers. For the most part, I'm pretty satisfied with book covers in general. These ones are just terrible. But don't let that keep you from reading the books!
10. Totally should've kept the original covers:
Well, this has already been fixed, SO I AM NOT COMPLAINING. I just couldn't think of anything else. Thank goodness they decided to keep THE WINNER'S CURSE trilogy covers as they are. They are BEAUTIFUL. And the new ones would have been okay, but just not as good. Thank you thank you thank you for changing your minds!
11. Totally should've stopped at book one:
I'm generally not a fan of standalones because they more often than not feel a little incomplete to me, but I'd be okay if THE GRISHA TRILOGY by Leigh Bardugo just stopped at Shadow and Bone. I just thought the books should have been combined a bit and shortened. They didn't really hold my attention and I could have done without all three.
Alright, there are my answers! If anyone reads this, comment & let me know what you agree or disagree with!

A Fresh Start
THE GIRL & THE BACKSTORY -
Hey! I'm Nicole, and I like to read. Also I like all things glittery & sparkly. I've never bedazzled anything in my life. To be honest, I can't even imagine what that process looks like. I hear there's a gun involved. But that is how bookdazzled came into existence. Books + sparkles = Nicole.
Now let's get down to business.
Books.
BOOKS.
I read a fair amount of books. And my friends do not read nearly as much as I do. See the problem? I feel like I might explode from lack of book talk! Who will I talk about books to? No one I know! So, thank goodness for the internet. Even if nobody reads this, it's been said.
THE CHALLENGE -
I decided to read 100 books last year. Now here's a little background: I am a very new recent reader. I'm not sure if that sounds redundant, but I feel like all of those words are necessary. Here's why:
I read a lot when I was younger. By younger, I mean from 12 to 14 years old. By a lot, I mean constantly juggling 3 or 4 books at a time. In high school, I stopped reading. Completely. Stopped. Didn't read a single book for entertainment until... THE SUMMER OF 2014. And I am 23.
So.
That means approximately 8 years or so of NOT READING. At all.
Then, I took a children's literature class for my old major - elementary education (I've since switched to English!). And it was a game-changer. I read books like Cinder by Marissa Meyer and Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale, because I had to. And I fell in love with reading again.
So to sum up, I read 44 books from June 2014 to December 2014. And I failed in 2015. But I read 96 books, which is a personal record! This year I've set my goal to 75, because school is insane. I feel like this is doable. I often second-guess myself, but let's do this! I'm my own personal cheerleader!
I'll keep you updated!
